Who we are
Enterprising Africa Regional Network (Pty) Limited, trading as EARN International, and its training arm African Greeneurs, collect the information submitted through the application and sponsor enquiry forms on this site to assess applications and partnership enquiries, and to contact applicants, sponsors and partners about our training programmes.
What we collect
From applicants: name, gender, age group, identity or passport number, contact details, location, programme of interest, education, current situation, farming experience, land access, and the motivation you write for us.
From sponsors and strategic partners: organisation name, contact person, contact details, the funding types, beneficiary groups or contributions you select, an optional funding value range, and the outcomes you describe.
From short course bookings, waitlists, the newsletter, contact and ElevAfrica forms: name, email, phone number, the course or topic you choose, your message, and (for bookings) your identity or passport number.
From everyone: basic technical and campaign information (referring page, landing URL, browser user agent and any UTM campaign tags) so we understand where enquiries come from.
Identity and passport numbers
We ask for a South African ID number, or a passport number for applicants outside South Africa, to verify identity for programme enrolment and to meet the record-keeping requirements that apply to our accredited training programmes. This is a special category of personal information under POPIA and will be treated accordingly. The final version of this notice must state the specific lawful basis, the retention period, and who this information may be shared with.
Marketing
Receiving updates, newsletters and opportunities from us is optional and is never a condition of applying or enquiring. You can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us on the details below.
WhatsApp messages
Every form on this site that asks for a phone number has an optional, unticked box: "Send me course updates and booking help on WhatsApp." We only message you on WhatsApp if you tick it (or say yes in a chat with us on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp or our website chatbot). We keep a record of your choice: the exact wording you agreed to, when, and on which form.
If you opt in, we send messages about the course or enquiry you contacted us about, booking help, and course dates and offers. Messages are sent through ManyChat, a messaging platform that connects to WhatsApp (Meta), and your first name, phone number and the course you're interested in are shared with ManyChat for this purpose.
To stop WhatsApp messages at any time, reply STOP to any of our messages, or contact us on the details below. Stopping WhatsApp messages does not affect your application, booking or enquiry.
Website chatbot
Our website chatbot is provided by Retell AI. What you type is processed by Retell to answer your questions, and your conversation is saved in your browser so you can pick it up again. If you ask it to send you course details on WhatsApp or to have someone contact you, it passes your first name, phone number and question to us.
Your rights
This processing is carried out in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). The final version of this notice will set out, in full: what personal information is collected, why it is collected, how long it is kept, who it may be shared with, how applicants can access, correct or request deletion of their information, and the contact details of EARN's Information Officer.
Contact
If you have questions about your application or your information in the meantime, contact us at info@africangreeneurs.com or +27 12 669 3012.
